Recipe for High THC RSO Hot Toddies
Step 1. Assemble all of your ingredients
Ingredients used:
Tea bags of your choice
2 to 3 teaspoons of honey, to taste
2 to 3 teaspoons of lemon juice, to taste
Lemon slices
RSO of your choice
Step 2. In a teapot, heat up enough water for the desired amount of Hot Toddies
Pour water over tea bags and let steep for 2-4 minutes stirring occasionally.
Step 3. Add Honey & Lemon Juice to taste
We used freshly squeezed lemons and incorporated approximately one tablespoon of lemon juice and one tablespoon of honey in each Hot Toddy.
Step 4. Add THC or CBD RSO
You may want to add a small amount or you may want to add a large amount, depending on your personal tolerance and the THC or CBD content in the RSO you select. We recommend starting with a small amount and seeing how it affects you before working your way up to a larger amount.
Step 6: Mix really well & serve!
Add some lemon rounds to your glasses if you are feeling fancy! These RSO infused Hot Toddies are now complete and ready to be served!

FAQ RSO Infused Hot Toddies
What is an RSO-infused Hot Toddy?
A hot toddy is a classic warm drink made with tea, honey, and lemon — and this version gets a cannabis upgrade by stirring in a dose of RSO (Rick Simpson Oil). You can use either THC RSO for a more relaxing, euphoric experience or CBD RSO for a calming, non-intoxicating effect. It's one of the simplest and most satisfying cannabis-infused beverages you can make at home, any time of year!
Does RSO dissolve in hot tea?
It dissolves much better than you might expect — especially when you stir it really well! RSO is oil-based, so it won't dissolve the way sugar does, but the honey and hot liquid help it incorporate smoothly into the drink. The key is mixing thoroughly before sipping. Warming your RSO syringe in hot water for a few minutes before dispensing also helps it flow more easily and blend more evenly into the tea.
How much RSO should I put in a Hot Toddy?
This is very personal and depends entirely on your tolerance and the potency of your specific RSO product. The recipe wisely recommends starting with a small amount — even a tiny dose of RSO can be quite potent, especially for newer consumers. Give yourself at least an hour after your first drink before deciding whether you want more. You can always add more next time, but you can't take it back once it's in the cup!
Can I use CBD RSO instead of THC RSO in this recipe?
Absolutely! CBD RSO is a fantastic option if you want the soothing, warming benefits of a hot toddy without any psychoactive effects. CBD RSO is non-intoxicating and works beautifully in this recipe — the honey and lemon do a great job of complementing CBD's earthy flavor. It's a particularly lovely option for a relaxing evening wind-down drink before bed.
What type of tea works best for an RSO-infused Hot Toddy?
Any tea you love works great! Classic choices like chamomile, green tea, or a spiced chai pair beautifully with honey, lemon, and RSO. Chamomile is especially popular for evening RSO hot toddies since its naturally calming properties complement CBD or THC's relaxing effects. Avoid very strongly flavored teas that might clash with the RSO — mild and floral teas tend to work best.
Can I make RSO Hot Toddies in bulk for a group?
Yes — just scale up the tea, honey, and lemon proportionally for however many servings you need. The most important thing is dosing the RSO individually rather than stirring a single large amount into a shared pot, since different people have different tolerances. Let each person add their own RSO dose to their individual cup so everyone can control their own experience. And always make sure every guest knows the drink is RSO-infused before serving!
