Know Your Grower -- Falcanna

Who is Falcanna?
Falcanna is a Clean Green Certified cannabis producer and processor operating out of Port Angeles, Washington on the Olympic Peninsula. Falcanna is a 100% minority owned business (50% woman-owned, 50% Indigenous-owned). Bethany and Justin Rondeaux, the founders and owners, have been working in cannabis for well over a decade with roots laid down initially during Washington’s medical cannabis era.
They are now known for their top shelf cannabis flower and live resin extracts as well as their mission and passion for falcon breeding and rehabilitation projects. Their brand Falcanna is truly a beautiful marriage between this couple’s biggest passions.
Half of the Falcanna dynamic duo, Bethany, hails originally from the South, good ole Oklahoma. Justin, her other half, was born and raised in the Pacific Northwest as a member of the Cow Creek Band of Umpqua Indians.
Throughout their lives, Bethany and Justin both discovered they loved being in nature and learning about raptors/birds of prey and animal husbandry. Falconry is what eventually introduced the two, and within six months of meeting, they were married and on their way to becoming the cannabis dream team we know today.
How did Falcanna come to be?
Bethany and Justin first got their start in growing medical cannabis to help treat Bethany’s frequent migraines after finding little to no success with traditional treatment methods. The Rondeauxs worked hard over the years to perfect the art of curating top shelf, high quality, organic cannabis. They were able to build relationships and obtain very special and coveted cannabis genetics from around the world to further lend to their mission of curating clean, high quality medicinal cannabis.
In November of 2012, Bethany and Justin opened a medical cannabis delivery service called Olympic Sinsemilla for patients living on the Olympic Peninsula. In 2015, upon the introduction of recreational cannabis in Washington state, Falcanna was officially born as the new brand for the same cannabis strains and products that they had supplied their patients with for years.
To ensure a high standard in quality, Justin and Bethany decided they would grow for themselves; their goal is to grow cannabis that they themselves would be not only willing to smoke, but be proud to smoke! Falcanna utilizes only organic nutrients and natural minerals combined with a living grow medium to help bring out the full power and potential to express each plant’s full genetic potential.
To mention Falcanna but not their ambassador Sky would be a disservice to the brand. Sky is well known across the Washington cannabis industry as he has visited many cannabis retail establishments, including us over here at Hashtag! Sky is a male Saker falcon and is 12 years old. He was rescued by the Rondeauxs from very unfortunate circumstances.
He now lives a fulfilling, enriched, happy, healthy, active life at Bethany and Justin’s Luxury Falcon Resort. According to the Falcanna team, when he’s not posing for photos, Sky can be found eating fresh quail, flying in the football field sized exercise pen or taking long, luxurious baths (truly living his best falcon life).
Falcanna Advocates
Making the world a better place has always been important to Bethany and Justin. Falcanna advocates to protect the cannabis industry in a way that allows small and minority-owned businesses to flourish. Bethany and Justin are also passionate about preserving natural habitats and rehabilitating falcons and hawks so that they can be returned to the wild. Here, you will find a timeline of the activism and rehabilitation efforts made by Falcanna and the Rondeauxs.
Another way they make efforts to improve the world (and industry) around us is by providing their products in packaging that is biodegradable! They are dedicated to keeping their waste at an absolute minimum. Their bags housing their flower products will break down naturally within 20 years! In contrast, the industry’s standard mylar bags take around 500 years to completely degrade.
Even the glass jars they use for their ounces of flower are special! They use Italian made Fido jars that are fitted with a rubber gasket to keep everything fresh and tasty, and are made from recycled glass. Additionally, their joint 2 packs are sealed in our unique tubes made from biodegradable hemp-paper. They have recently launched their newest product, joint 6 packs, which are also packaged in biodegradable hemp-paper boxes. The industry as a whole across the country could learn a thing or two from Falcanna in this capacity!

Staff favorites: Pacific Blue
Pacific Blue created by Falcanna is an indica-dominant (80%) hybrid cross of (Pre-’98 Bubba Kush x DJ Short BlueBerry) backcrossed to Pre-’98 Bubba Kush. Pacific Blue has a smell that is a mix of kelp and mint. She has a very strong pepper and earth flavor that brings you back to the ‘Kush’ hype of the 1990s in California. Pacific Blue generally yields a very balanced high and makes you happy immediately after smoking it. Falcanna’s Pacific Blue is a good strain for mood relaxation, stress, anxiety, depression, and physical discomfort. Bethany has found it particularly useful for her chronic migraines. Many of our staff have found this cultivar to be quite effective in quelling feelings of nausea as well. Many folks have reported back that Pacific Blue can be quite the delightful aphrodisiac!
